Hey guys!
Today I'll be reviewing on NARS Highlighting Blush in the shade of Albatross. I got it for RM126 a few months ago at Pavilion.
This is how the packaging looks like:
It's in its usual black velvet packaging. It feels nice to the touch, it's smooth like a baby's bottom. However, it gets dirty very easily with powdered finger prints or with the highlighter dust. But it's easy to clean with a piece of tissue so it's nothing much to worry about.
How the product looks:
THE PRODUCT:
This highlighter has a golden champagne sheen to it, even though you can't really see it in the pictures. It comes with a mirror attached to it, unlike some highlighters.
PROS:
1. Suitable for yellow-toned skin, as it has yellow undertones in the product. Because of this, it makes a nice sun-kissed glow to your face when applied with a bronzer. This highlighter complements all bronzers.
2. It's very compact. The packaging is slim and small, so it's easy to put it in your handbag for travel or a night out.
3. You can build the intensity. However, building too much may look fake or ashy. One swipe is enough to have a glow or a pop at your cheekbones.
4. Great highlighter to have popping cheekbones.
CONS:
1. Not suitable for all skin tones. If you have pink undertones, I do not recommend this highlighter.
2. May look ashy or fake when color is too intense.
HOW IT LOOKS:
You can see here with one swipe of a finger the color is very intense and ashy looking.
However if you apply with a brush, it does not look ashy. It gives a glow to the cheekbones and makes it pop.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
I love it. I used Benefit's Bronzing & Highlighter Duo ( It's called 10) before this for a few years until I recently found out it was discontinued. The highlighter in 10 had a pinkish undertone which doesn't complement my skin as much as Albatross does. So overall, Albatross is definitely my favourite highlighter!
